Describe Yourself:Born November 8, 1953 in Kingston, Jamaica, second and until 1959, middle child. Moved to live with my father's parents in Alley, Clarendon at 2 years old while my parents were in England earning their degrees. My brother & sister went to the other grand parents, but we saw each other often.
It is a strange feeling when you have to be introduced to your parents. They returned when I was almost 6 (forgotten them completely). Mom cried and cried, vowing never ever to leave us again.
Questioned just about everything I was taught while growing up. Did Jesus exist? Yes. Does the Bible contain God's words? Yes. Do all good persons go to heaven? No we all go to Hell, some come back. God is not a trinity. Gave my parents and teachers a hard time. Raised Baptist, Jehovah's Witnesses converted me easily.
My wife is trying very hard to aculturalise me. Still disagree that shoes are to be worn at all times. Kick them off as soon as I get home. -

Jeffrey H., Nov 19, 2009, 1:11PM ESTWell thank you Mr. Denis i appreciate your intrigue, i call America free, when we didnt have to think about it not free, its more an idea, than a place, a day trying to pay ones car insurance than solve a national debt, it's a day where home cooked meals came without worry oh needing to find a home, normally younger, but i hope sir this answers your question, i was trying to be articulate but without hypocricy... thank you for visiting my site sir..

Larry M., Nov 19, 2009, 1:08PM ESTWhereas I say that we can't know anything about God for that same reason. :-) Different approach.

Larry M., Nov 19, 2009, 12:54PM ESTDennis,
I have never kept secret why I am agnostic. I just cannot accept that I could know anything about how the Universe was created. And, having lived for about 50 years since that discovery, I have had a great life without belief. -
Larry M., Nov 18, 2009, 3:25PM ESTThat's one of the many pleasures of Gather. :-)

Cheri Cabot, Nov 18, 2009, 1:21AM ESTDennis, got a "mass" e-mail from my niece and family. I think they are struggling with culture shock right now. They lived very well back in Iowa, and gave everything up to move to Jamaica. Not tv, no internet, very little in the way of material goods.
